Types of forests

Plants are living organisms. Plants are made of cells.

We see them around us every day.

We do not always notice them, treating them as something obvious.

They play an important role in our lives, due to the fact that they provide us with various benefits that we often do not realize.

Plants grow in different places, they represent different species, in some places they grow luxuriantly and in others they grow poorly.

This species variability and strength of growth depends on many factors.

The strength of plant growth undoubtedly depends on the type of soil on which they grow, many plants have different preferences here. Some plants grow well in one type of soil, while others prefer a different type of soil.

Water has a similar meaning, here plants also have very different preferences.

This dependence of growth, dependent on soil and water availability, is so often strong that after the occurrence of a group of very characteristic, specific plant species in a given place, we can approximatel determine the type of soil that can occur in a given place.

Plants are also strongly dependent on air temperatures and the availability of light.

Here, too, some species prefer it to be warm, others prefer it to be cooler.

Similarly, plants have different needs for light, some prefer a lot of light, others prefer shade.

These interesting relationships between the preferences of species and the conditions prevailing in a given place create very interesting groups of vegetation. It is a great diversity that creates different landscapes and living conditions.

This is a certain simplification, because many species of plants cooperate with each other, benefiting from the common existence next to each other. This is a very common phenomenon in the plant world. That's why they often appear together.

Some countries or parts of our planet have a greater or lesser variety of such clusters of characteristic vegetation groups.

And so different climates occurring on our planet create different very characteristic clusters of vegetation.

The features of plants described here cause that the occurrence of various plant zones on our planet has a latitudinal arrangement similar to the course of climatic zones.

Of course, in our homes and gardens, we can try to create similar conditions for them, it is possible when it comes to individual species, but in the case of their characteristic clusters found on the ground, it is very difficult or even impossible. This is the result of very complex dependencies that occur in nature, which are difficult to open by man at home or in semi-natural conditions, such as a garden.

Types of forests :

1. Boreal forests occupy the subarctic zone and are generally evergreen and coniferous.

2. Temperate zones support both broadleaf deciduous forests (e.g., temperate deciduous forest) and evergreen coniferous forests (e.g., temperate coniferous forests and temperate rainforests).

3. Warm temperate zones support broadleaf evergreen forests, including laurel forests.

4. Tropical and subtropical forests include tropical and subtropical moist forests, tropical and subtropical dry forests, and tropical and subtropical coniferous forests.
